"Sea Cruise"

Harley was to have a dance performance last night but because of the freezing rain we had to postpone the review until next Friday. However, we did have the dress rehearsal on Thursday so, I took a few pictures so that on Friday we can just enjoy the performance. She actually danced while we watched, for those of you who know her, this is a major accomplishment! We are proud of how she is coming into herself and she is slowly becoming more comfortable around others.

Here is Haddie and Harley. They both were so bummed that the recital was canceled. They were looking forward to watching each other. Thanks Hadd for being so good to Harley, she loves you!

Here is her dance teacher. I hope she don't hear about this and kill me that I posted this. Harley loves her and her daughter so much. It sure makes going to dance so much easier when you have an AWESOME teacher.

Wintertime Fun!

Here is a few pictures of the kids playing outside. They get so bored playing inside so they asked if they could ride their bikes. I told them they could if they had on their coats, gloves and hats. Harley and Tucker did a good job listening to me but Stratton evidently didn't think that I was serious.

Milestones

You know that throughout your children's lives they will meet certain milestones but deep down you hope that those milestones won't come to fast. Well last night when I got home from work I was talking to Kevin and Harley was to be asleep, but she was working on getting her 1st loose tooth out. She has been trying for about a week. Well she did it! She came running up the stairs and into the bedroom holding her tooth and yells "My tooth fell out!" She was beaming. We got all excited with her because this something that we hope she never forgets. I took her picture, she didn't want to hold her tooth because it was gross, but I made her anyway. Then we put her tooth in a bag and put it under her pillow. As I tucked in, again, she asked me if I thought that the tooth fairy had a skinny arm so that when she comes she won't wake her. I told her that the fairy was small and she would leave her a special prize. This morning she came upstairs and told me that the tooth fairy left her $2. She couldn't have been happier!

"PRICELESS"

This... (a wire christmas ornament hanger)

Plus this... (your standard wall plug)

Equals this... (Stratt's burnt fingers)

Yesterday afternoon Stratton was playing with the dump trucks in the living room upstairs, or so I thought, while I read the newspaper in the kitchen. All of a sudden he came screaming in the kitchen holding his hand with the other. I sat him on the counter and asked him what had happened. He said that he hurt his hand but he would not show it to me. I could smell that something was burnt so I looked at the hand he was holding and could see that his thumb and pointer fingers where brown, like they had been burnt. I asked him what he burnt himself on and he wouldn't tell me. So, I set him on the ground, after I gave him a cold paper towel to hold, so that he could show me what he burnt it on. At first he tried to tell me that he burnt it on the cold air return. I knew that wasn't the case since it is never hot. Finally he showed me that he had taken the hanger and straightened it out and put one side of it into the top plug and the other into the the bottom. Needless to say it shocked and burnt him. He was crying really hard because it was hurting so bad. I asked him if was ever going to do that again. Of course he said no. I really wasn't in panic mode until I called the ER and the nurse told me that electricity can travel internally and burn his internal organs and mess up his heart. She asked how bad the burn was, which isn't all that bad. She said that more than likely he is OK but to watch him close. After talking to her I was stressed so I called my friend Suzanne, who's a nurse, and asked her how bad the burn had to be before I panicked. She also reassured that he was probably just fine. The worst part about the situation was that on Monday he put a crayon in a GFI plug downstairs and tripped that set outlets. So we had already had the electricity talk.
Moral of the story...
Wire ornament hangers... household outlets... burnt fingers... "PRICELESS" life lessons!

Ode to Uncle Tony

Stratton and I were driving to Logan on Wednesday and he got all excited and says to me "Mom do you know what Uncle Tony drinks?"
I said "No, what does he drink?"
He says as he squirming around "Um um, I forgot." I just smiled at him then he says "Alcohol!"
I said "Really. Uncle Tony drinks alcohol?"
He says "Yes, that's awesome."
I just laughed and laughed. What kind of things are my kids learning while they are at Auntie Taya's and Uncle Tony's?!!

Who needs a baby doll ...

Who needs a baby doll when you have a little brother? This was a few days before the kids went back to school. Tucker was with Kevin on the milk truck, I was cleaning, and this is what Harley convinced Stratton to do. I thought that it was pretty cute. Kevin, not so much.

Blogging Again??

Ok, so I feel like I need to do something to remember what it is that my crazy munchkins are doing. So, what better way then blogging about it. I have decided to give it another try. I will work hard at keeping things updated but no promises!
