The Great Pumpkins!

The kids that a great time tonight carving their pumpkins. We let to the local pumpkin patch last week and picked out our pumpkins. Tonight we carved them and tomorrow we are going to start to light them. We have some fun halloween plans. Including a carnival, a cake walk, games and of course trick-or-treating. Harley is going to be Gabrellia. Tucker is going to be a pirate. Stratton is going to be a rodeo clown. Look for a updated post in a few days (or weeks at the rate I am going) with the costume turn out.

Oh NO not AGAIN!!!

I guess that it is my turn! So here is the story. Yesterday afternoon Kevin and I were pulling out all the flowers and I decided that I wanted to move a shrub. Kevin was digging out the plant and I bent down to help him, as I bent down to help him by pulling the plant back and the shovel snapped. The handle came up and smack my face. It felt like it hit my mouth. I fell to the ground screaming and crying and burying my face in my hands. The kids were right there with us. As I was on the ground I felt my eye start to swell. I lifted my head just barley, looked at my hands and saw blood. Kevin kept telling me to look at him but I wouldn't because of the kids. I told him to send the kids down to the Foster's and Harley was crying saying that they weren't home. So I told him to send them to the Turner's, they were outside. JoAnn came over and help Kevin get me into the house. She sat me on a chair in the kitchen, took the rag off my face and said 'Oh honey you better go to the hospital.' I knew it was bad then. They kept the kids and we went up town. I was ok by then. When we were in the ER I started to cry and the nurse asked if I was ok. I said that I was just sad that my face was messed up. We were going to do picture and we finally nailed a time that the girls could be here, we didn't need to be somewhere else, and Tucker's black eye was gone. She just laughed at me. Needless to say the doc came in and put 3 stitches in and now my eye is big and black and my nose is huge. I went to work last night at the grocery store and had a lot of explaining to do. Vonny, the manager, looked at me and said 'do you really want to be here.' I knew that another girl had called in so really I had no choice. So I stayed. One little girl asked me if I cried. I told her I cried really hard. I hurt really really bad!

Holy SHINER!

So, this is what happens when you stand to close to your sister when she has a bat! That's right. The kids were out back playing last night while I was folding clothes. All of a sudden Tucker comes running into the house screaming. The type where you know he has been really hurt. He said that Harley hit him with the bat. Sure enough he had a big white bump just under his eye. I freaked, thinking that something had to be broken. Good thing Kevin was home to bring me back to my senses! So much for family pictures this weekend! Hopefully it will be gone by school pictures next Monday.
