I am not sure about you but my kids and I are so excited about spring being here. I took these picture on Friday, February 20, 2009. Stratt couldn't wait for Tuck to get home to play outside. They changed their clothes and headed out for the afternoon. Literally!! At this point they were laying on a blanket under the tramp just relaxing. At about 3:00 that afternoon they went out front to play and when the other neighborhood kids got off the bus they all played until about 7:30. They had popsicles, had bike races, rode the four-wheelers and just truly enjoyed themselves, going from one house to the other. We are so grateful for the neighborhood that we live in. The kids truly wouldn't have it any other way!

Tucker!!
As we were driving to Herriman/Riverton/whereever Glenn lives, on Saturday, we were talking about Daesha's phone not working. She can only text because the speaker on her phone doesn't work and it hasn't since she got it. She was telling us that they haven't had time to call the company to get it replaced. So Kevin told her that she should take it to the place that sells the phones in Montpelier. She told him that they had to do it over the phone. Out of the blue Tucker says "Daesha, why don't steal one?" We all started to laugh as if it was that easy! Kevin then proceed to talk to Tucker about stealing and about how he would go to jail and so on. I some times have to wonder what we are exposing our children to. Was this something that he seen on TV or was it a topic of conversation that he heard? What seems like such an easy answer to him could have dramatic consequences as well. It was funny but a great opportunity to teach him a valuable lesson for later in life. We have to love these opportunities :)

New floors & walls
Many of you know that we decided that we needed to upgrade, I mean remove, our nasty crappy carpet that we have hated since we built our house. So we went with this awesome laminate flooring that has the look of hardwood but not the maintenance of hardwood. I was really nervous about this. I am not a spender, as many of you know, so this was a little out of my comfort zone. It was an investment, to say the least, but I am very pleased with the way that it turned out. So while I was out of my comfort zone I decided that I wanted my walls painted as well. And since we would already have a mess why not take on another mess. So, I hired a painter! And I LOVE the way that the paint turned out. I love the colors and I love the new feel of fresh paint! I only hope that with our upcoming appraisal that it will add some value financially and not only cosmetically.

100 points! That is more than 200 books!!
On Friday, March 6, 2009, Harley was awarded for getting 100 AR, accelerated reader, points. For every book that she reads, which are usually 1/2 point, she takes a test on to see if she understands what she has read. She'll then get a grade on the test and that is how she builds the points. So, in order to get the 100 points she's had to read over 200 books! This morning before class started she was taken from her class and taken down the hall by second grade class rooms are where she, along with some others, would begin their walk down the halls. As they walk all the classes in the school stand out in the hall and clap. She was smiling from ear to ear! I am so proud of her. She set this goal at the beginning of the year and had accomplished it. It took a lot of hard work and dedication and many many hours of reading! WAY TO GO HARLEY! WE LOVE YOU!
This is her and her friend Annabelle. They walked together. They were waiting in the library to get their picture with the panther.
Here is Harley, Annabelle, Kenidie and Pella the Panther, the school mascot. Their picture will now be placed in a glass case near the office displaying their accomplishment.

Good Times
So last week the kids had some friends over to play. And apparently they got my camera and took some pictures. This is what they came up with.
Warning: they are pretty funny!
Whoever had the camera, which is yet to be determined, obviously was unaware of how to center the people in the picture.
They also didn't realize that their finger was in the way!
I guess that there are worse things that these 4 could have come up with :) They all love to play together and whenever they get together there is never a dull moment. Thanks Kofoed family for coming to play and making me laugh when I found the evidence!
